Over 15 years of experience in the public school system, teaching grades 6-12.  Mike has
also taught at the university level.  Mike has received a Citation of Excellence from the
National Band Association.

Trumpet Influences
Mike has been influenced by many players.  Among them are Maynard Ferguson, Doc
Severinsen, Arturo Sandoval, and Bobby Shew.  Another big influence in his life was the
late Doug Henderson, who was his first trumpet teacher and later his friend and fellow
trumpeter.
